Kristine Scott is Public Affairs Manager for the Southern California Gas Company, San Bernardino County region. Involved in several regional education and workforce efforts, Kristine serves as the Ontario-Montclair Schools Foundation Secretary. She graduated from CSU Fullerton and currently resides in Rancho Cucamonga.

Danny De La Mora grew up in Ontario, California and graduated from Damien High School and the University of La Verne. He is currently a Commercial Banker at B of A and lives in Rancho Cucamonga with his family. Danny enjoys golf and adventures at Disneyland with his wife and two young daughters.

Dr. Cyndy Byrd is a former Ontario-Montclair School District Assistant Superintendent of Learning and Teaching. Cyndy was born in Brawley, California and currently resides in Brea, California. A graduate of UC Santa Barbara, CSU San Bernardino and Western State College of Law she is retired and is pleased to support the students of her former district when she isn’t traveling.

Ontario-Montclair Schools Foundation Board Member Robert Cleeland was raised in Pasadena and currently resides in Rancho Cucamonga. A Senior Sales Representative for Vulcan Materials Company, Robert is helping Promise Scholars connect to businesses and workforce development issues

Al Boling

Al C. Boling is the City of Ontario Assistant City Manager and has held various positions with the City over a 21-year period. Al graduated from Cal State San Bernardino and Chaffey College with degrees in Business Administration-Public Accounting and Economics. He actively serves our community as the Vice President of the Friends of the Ontario/Chaffey Community Show Band, served on the Central Elementary School District’s Budget Ad Hoc Committee and served two terms on Central Elementary School Site Council.

Albert Maldonado

Albert was born, raised, and presently lives in Rancho Cucamonga. Albert graduated from Damien High School, Pitzer College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Studies, Harvard Divinity School with a Master’s Degree in Theological Studies, and Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree. He is passionate about diversity in higher education and he sits on the National Board of the Harvard Latino Alumni Alliance. In his free time, he enjoys dancing salsa and bachata.

Gary Ovitt

Gary Ovitt is a native of Ontario. He attended San Antonio and Hawthorne Elementary schools, as well as, Vina F. Danks Junior High. Gary graduated from Chaffey High School and the University of Redlands and returned to Chaffey High School to teach for 35 years. He retired from serving 22 years as an elected official as a Councilman and Mayor in Ontario and as a San Bernardino County Supervisor. He now also serves as a Governing Board Member for Chaffey Community College, nonprofit board member for the Ontario Chaffey Community Showband, Children’s’ Fund, the West End YMCA Board and as a Commissioner on the Ontario Parks and Recreation Commission. During his leisure time you can find him reading, traveling and playing golf.

Sue Oxarart is Director of Marketing and Communications for the Greater Ontario Convention & Visitors Bureau, Citizens Business Bank Arena, Ontario Convention Center and the California Welcome Center at Ontario Mills. Sue was born and raised in Ontario and now lives in nearby Alta Loma with her husband. Sue spends her free time gardening, boating, and spending time with her four sons and three grandchildren.

Heather Raymond is the Senior Director, Public Affairs & Brand Communications at Kaiser Permanente. Heather grew up in Sheboygan, Washington and since 2009 has been living in Glendora, California. She obtained a Bachelors of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from Arizona State University and a Masters in Management from University of Phoenix. Heather enjoys hiking, working out, playing the Ukulele and spending time with her husband and kids.

Ontario-Montclair Schools Foundation Board Member Marco Robles is the Public Affairs Director for Cardenas Markets Inc. A former elected official, Marco serves as a leader on several regional business, education, and youth related initiatives and boards. He was recently appointed to serve on the Coca-Cola Company National Latino Business Resource Group, LA VIDA.

Tammy Lipschultz is the Assistant Superintendent of Learning and Teaching for the Ontario-Montclair School District. She was born and raised in Kalamazoo Michigan. A former teacher and principal, she has worked for OMSD for 33 years. A graduate of University of Michigan Tammy lives in nearby Rancho Cucamonga.

Leslie Sorensen is the Foundation’s Executive Director and an Ex-Officio Member of the Foundation. Employed by the Ontario-Montclair School District, Leslie has lived in the Inland Empire since 1991 and is a graduate of CSU Fullerton. On weekends, you’ll find her exploring local botanical gardens or cooking with friends and family.

Chris Hollister is the Assistant Superintendent of Alternative Instruction for the Chaffey Joint Union High School District. He is in his 28th year as an educator in this community. Chris has a degree in English from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and another in Educational Leadership from Azusa Pacific University. In his free time, Chris spends time with and cheering on his two kids and working towards completing a doctorate at the University of Southern California. Fight on!

Leslie grew up in the Central Valley and has lived in the Inland Empire since 1991. She attended community college and then graduated from CSU Fullerton with Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts. Leslie has worked in municipal government and the nonprofit sector, and for the last eight years she has worked at the Ontario-Montclair School District. On weekends, you’ll find her exploring local botanical gardens or cooking with friends and family.

High School Supervisor

Ráelyne is the High School Supervisor, Chaffey High School is her alma mater. She was born and raised in the Inland Empire and has called Ontario home for the last 12 years. She is also an Ontario-Montclair School District alumna. Ráelyne graduated from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, with a B.A. in Women’s and Gender Studies. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her family and fill her sketchbook with portraits and doodles.

Catherine was born and raised in the Inland Empire and graduated from California State University, San Bernardino. While there, she came to understand that many students shared similar experiences because they also were first generation students. Catherine chose to serve with Promise Scholars as an AmeriCorps VIP Fellow because the program provided universal college-access to a community close to her own. Through her service, she developed a passion for helping students realize that college is a place for them. In her free time, she enjoys staying active, spending time with her two dogs, discovering new places to eat, and going on trips.

Aang grew up in Cornwall, NY and graduated from Smith College (Northampton, MA) in 2017 with a BA in French Language and Literature. Aang is the AmeriCorps VISTA member primarily focusing on the steps to success for 5th and 6th grade. As a recent CA/Inland Empire transplant, they are very excited to get to grow and engage with their new community through their year of service. In their free time they like to thrift, find and eat the best tamales, visit art museums, and be with family and friends.
